Hasitha Premaratne
Hasitha Premaratne (MBA, BSc, FCCA, ACMA, ASCMA) is the editor of PerfectDecision.
Hasitha is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Brandix Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka’s Largest Apparel Exporter with a consolidated Turnover of $350 million. He leads Group’s overall Finance Team, with responsibilities in all Group Investments, Investor Relations, Cross Boarder Investments, Group Management Reporting, Group Financial Reporting, Funding, Treasury Operations and Group Financial Strategy.
He is also the CEO of Leading Investment Holdings Ltd, a Private Equity Company, which has been established by Brandix and its global partners, to invest in the Indian Sub – Continent.
He was formally the Head of Research at HNB Stockbrokers (Pvt) Ltd and possesses plenty of experience in the fields of capital markets, economics, strategic finance, management, research and ICT.
He holds a MBA in International Finance and a B.Sc in Computer Science. He is also an Associate member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA - UK), the Society of Certified Management Accountants and a Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK).
His lecturing experience expands for 8 years, for CIMA (UK), ACCA (UK) examinations, at Wisdom Business Academy, CIMA Sri Lanka Division, CIMA India Division, ACCA Sri Lanka Division and Rapporteur Resource Management in Singapore. He has produced 9 Sri Lankan Prizes, 3 world Prizes and pass rates in excess of 60% in the subjects Decision Management, Performance Evaluation, Business Taxation and Business Mathematics. He is also a visiting lecturer at University of Kelaniya MBA Programme.
He also functions as a Non Executive Director of Vesess (Pvt) Ltd and is also a regular Columnist for Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD) Magazine.
Hasitha was the winner of the “Tutor of The Year award” at CIMA Global Financial Management Awards 2009 held in London during November 2009. He was Highly Commended for the same award in 2008 and was among the five shortlisted for the same award in 2007 as well. He is the Winner and Gold Medalist of prestigious “YOUNG CIMA STAR OF THE YEAR” award, at the CIMA Pinnacle Awards in 2006. He has Presented Sri Lanka at investor forums organized by The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Australia, and New Zealand. During his school career at Royal College, he was awarded with the Lalith Athulathmudali Award presented to the “MOST OUTSTANDING ROYALIST OF THE YEAR”
